Love is in the Mail

Today was kind of an overwhelming day due to school-homework, plans for next year, making up assignments, etc. (ick!)  So imagine my excitement at the fun mail I received today.  It definitely brightened my day- always a welcome surprise.  I love to hear from people I love, simple as that.  Plus,...there was even a letter from boyfriend, the first one I've gotten since I've been at college, which was exciting.  I opened it on the spot. :D

Happy Leap Day!

in other news...

aren't these flowers pretty?  i found them at the grocery store on Sunday.

Jeremy, Spenser, and I bought our tickets for bonnaroo!  We are beyond excited, well, at least I am!  I always wished I had lived back in 1969 in the age of Woodstock, so for me this is a dream come true! one of those bucket list type of deals, you know?  Sure it's going to be hot and icky, but I can't wait for the music, the art, the sustainability, the love, the free-spiritedness, the ferris wheel, the silent disco and the chance to let my inner hippie shine.  so! excited! so very very much!

Also, everyone knows Adele swept the Grammys, but have you heard this?  I just stumbled upon it and I kind of love it.

valentine's day dinner

                                                   it's v-day over here!
i know we're a bit late, but no time like the present to celebrate, right?
this is our fourth valentine's day together!
i'm so happy he's my valentine.
usually we don't do too much for valentine's day
and this year we kept it simple by going to dinner at
                                                   one of our favorite restaraunts,
                                                   which was perfect.

Puppies! Puppies! Puppies! Oh My!

Spenser's family runs a small farm and they always have animals running around.  Recently, their guard dog, Belle, gave birth to these puppies.  When they were newborns, they looked like little rodents (I kid you not!) and now they are fun fluffballs!  Also, there's a random, scary sheep for your enjoyment, courtesy of Spenser.  Actually I should give him credit for most of these photos.
And for lending me a sweatshirt so I didn't have to get dirty (thanks, boyfriend!).

thursday evening

Becca & I got together last night. We drank root beer and rented "What's Your Number?"
...but we never watched it because we ended up talking too much!  Imagine that!
Rain check.

Happy heart day!

That's you and you and you!
Wherever you are, whoever you're with, I hope you feel loved.
There are so many different types of love,
but in the end it doesn't matter what type you're celebrating today,
it just matters that you are.
So let's celebrate and pass the love on.

xoxo
C

p.s. I love you.

p.s.s. Sorry for the bad quality of the valentine.
My scanner is obviously
not passing the love on...

Love is in the Mail

Lots of love is in the mail!
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day!
I doubt my postal mailings will reach all my valentines by tomorrow,
but I'd suggest checking your mail box this week...

bits of our saturday

We started out the morning with crepes from Crepes de Luxe, a place we found last fall.  I don't think there's a better way to start out the morning really.  Then, we walked around, went window shopping, and explored Barnes & Noble.  While we were in B&N, we found The Brick Bible, a book that depicts the bible in legos.  That's right.  We got a kick out of it!  We especially liked the representation of God using his powers (see photo). J

Later in the evening we went to the movies.  The theatre was in a mall, so we decided to get dinner at the food court.  The lines were loooong everywhere, therefore we split up the waiting.  I was in charge of tickets and Spenser was in charge of Panda Express.  Amazingly I was done first, so I watched a boys' hockey game for a bit.

We saw two movies that night!  First up was Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in 3D.  We were psyched!  Our favorite part was the pod-racing by far.  It was exciting in 3D to be zooming through Tatooine with Anakin.

After Star Wars, we went to The Vow.  I know, I know, how incurable romantic of me.  I did think it had a thought-provoking concept of whether you would make the same choices if you had the chance to do it over again.  Also, during the previews before The Vow our two favorite droids showed up-C3PO and R2D2!  They were in a PSA for Variety Children's Charity.  How much more lovable can they get? (Seriously, watch the PSA!)

things I'm loving right now...

Clockwise from left:

Taylor Swift's photo shoot in this month's Vogue.

Cozy wallpaper from Emmadime, click here for different sizes or for her other February wallpaper, "Know Yourself".

Brad Pitt's glasses in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  Jeremy and I watched this movie this past weekend and when I proclaimed my love for Brad's glasses he said,"They're very hipster."  Fair enough.

Lana Del Rey's style.  She's got this awesome 60s vibe, which shows especially in her album cover photos.

Quote from Benjamin Button- go here if you can't read it (I realize it's a bit small!)

Lately I've been happily munching on these Pretzel Crisps.  My favorite flavor is Everything!

Nicole Martinez's Nerdy Dirty collection on Etsy.  Here's a close up view of each design.

Happy February!
