a banner for the band

Tonight Adele and I created a backdrop for Nothing But Zero.  We came up with three design prototypes for the band to choose from beforehand.  They decided they wanted just the band name in white using the lettering we used on one of our draft sketches.  So we kept it simple (which was a-okay by us) and painted the backdrop as requested.  Adele worked from right to left while I worked from left to right and somehow we miraculously met in the middle on each word.  Stepping back, we were really pleased with how it came out. Now we just hope the band is too!

Milwaukee by Boat

On our day trip, we took a boat tour of milwaukee.  We love boat tours because the skylines are always gorgeous and seeing a city as a whole, from the outside, gives a different perspective.  For instance, we had the opportunity to see the architecture of the art museum that we went to later in the day from the water side.

During the tour there were a lot of sailboats out and we passed by both historical and current lighthouses.  (Reinforcing my love of nautical things.)  It was a beautiful day to be on the water.  It started out a little gray, but became a clear, sunny sky.  Perfect for boating.

We met a couple on the boat that lived in milwaukee-they were being tourists in their own town (how fun!)-who gave us some great recommendations.  They told us to check out the third ward for dinner, shopping, and such.  We took their advice, which I'll post soon!

hello, milwaukee!

Yesterday we took a day trip to milwaukee.  Originally it just started out that we were going to see the offspring at the rave club in the evening (which we still did), but then we decided to arrive in milwaukee early and spend the day there.  And we made the most of the day!  We took a boat tour, went to the art museum, walked the waterfront, ate at the public market, and toured the third ward.

We fit alot in or at least i think so.  And you know what? We kind of really like milwaukee. ;)

An Afternoon Tea

Lauren came over to visit today and we decided to have a tea party.  We threw a blanket on the ground, set up a tray and sipped berry tea under a backyard tree.  I never was one of those girls to have tea parties when I was little (I don't know why, I don't have anything against them.)  But oh aren't they delightful?   Also, they are so very Lauren with her love of anything girly and Austen-like.

bonfire minus the, um, fire

Becca had a bonfire last night or rather she invited us to a bonfire.  Turned out, it was much too dry to have a fire, so instead we hung out in Becca's shed.  And her shed isn't just any shed, it's pretty much made for getting together.

We played pictionary quite a bit with all of the drawings involving our friend, Jacob. Spenser started the trend when he first drew Jacob at his work for the word cashier, I think it was?  Anyway, we had way too much fun incorporating him into all the pictures that followed. Jacob walking his dog, Jacob singing in the rain, Jacob as a magician,...
