a dinosaur + a tandem

1672 pumpkin carving
Happy Halloween!
Last night, Adele and I were in the spirit so we carved pumpkins while watching Rosemary's Baby.
(And may I just say for a moment how watching Mia Farrow really increased my desire to get a pixie?  That girl was adorable, even if she was carrying the devil's child.)

Adele, lover of dinosaurs, carved the pumpkin above.  While I carved the tandem bicycle, pictured below.  I have always loved tandem bicycles, but it seemed especially fitting after our time in Naperville.

Dress up, eat too much candy, celebrate and stay safe this evening!

We celebrated halloween a bit early last night.  I surprisingly didn't take too many pictures: these were all taken early in the night, most taken before everyone arrived, and as I looked through them the majority was of the decor.  So there's that. :)

I was Kate Middleton, a thrown-together (confession!) costume with all pieces already inside my closet.  Gotta love those!  But seriously who wouldn't want to be a princess, right?  Hope I did her justice!

The people who truly deserve credit for their costumes?  Spenser and his friend, Ben.  They made yip-yip costumes by hand.  Crafty!

Happy Halloween!

1501 rain on leaves

1510 rain on leaves2
it's been a rainy fall this year.
i most certainly don't mind wearing my rainboots,
but the rain better not take all the leaves down.
no way, jose!
not yet at least!

that's right.
i think i'm sick.  it started in naperville and i still don't feel so hot.
so i'm loading up on airborne (i know it's supposed to be a preventative, but it's gotta help while you're sick too, right?) and whatever else i can get my hands on to, haha.

unlike me, stay healthy my friends!

Mmm.
We arrived in Naperville on Thursday evening.  After the drive, and considering it was already getting late, we called it an early night.  By the next morning we were ready for an adventure and that adventure began with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had.  Correction, one of the best breakfasts we've ever had, because Adele and Becca loved it just the same.

Becca had heard rave reviews about Eggsperience, so we decided to try it.  Were those reviews ever right!  Afterwards, now hyped up on sugar, we went to the Morton Arboretum, which I can't wait to share!  It was beautiful.

This Weekend

North Central Campus
This weekend a friend and I are visiting another friend, Becca, who attends college in Naperville.
We've been looking forward to this visit for some time!
We are excited to be with Becca and see her new life at school!
Woot woot!

Happy Weekend!

My favorite day of the year! Eeeee! (That was an excited squeal. ;) )
All sorts of little creatures: monsters, skeletons, witches, rats, ghosts, crows, etc. made an appearance.  Luckily they were the handmade kind, not the real ones. Phew!

Farmers brought pumpkins, gourds, squash, and indian corn.  We met a beekeeper whose honey was there as well.  Just like any arts festival, crafters/artisans from all walks of life were there.  There was such beautiful halloween and autumn home decor.  I even bought a piece: a haunted mansion picture (I'll have to post it soon.)  And the food...yum!  We had cider donuts, a pumpkin canoli, and apple cider.  Note: the drink above in the pictures is actually a candle!  So we didn't drink that, but it smelled pretty delicious!

I think the reason I love this day so much is just the environment.  The cool air, the leaves have changed, the beautiful decorations for sale, pumpkins tucked in between the trees and the courthouse...it's a magnificent time. <3
